Why we exist

Choosing a nursing home for a parent or a recovering relative is one of the hardest, most stressful decisions a family makes — and it often happens fast, right after a hospital stay. For families who are newer to the United States or more comfortable in another language, it can be even harder to know how the system works, how to read a facility's record, and what care really costs.

Northhaven Care exists to make that step calmer. We explain skilled nursing and long-term care in plain words, we show you how to read quality and staffing ratings honestly, we lay out cost and how Medicare and Medicaid fit, and — when you're ready — we connect you, at no cost, with facilities that match the care your relative needs.

What we are — and what we are not

We are a free matching and information service. We are not a nursing home, a care provider, or a government program, and we do not give medical, legal, or financial advice. We point you to official sources, like Medicare.gov Care Compare and your state's long-term-care ombudsman, and we help you understand what they say.

Some skilled-nursing and long-term-care providers pay Northhaven Care a flat fee to be matched with families. This never changes what you pay (our service is always free to you), and it never affects guidance about Medicaid or Medicare, which we provide independently and without any referral arrangement.

How we keep it honest
